The Pied Piper
On Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th June the Year 2 boys treated us all to an amazing performance of the musical, ‘The Pied Piper’, written by Malcolm Sircom, adapted for WCPS by the Y2 staff.
The boys rose to the occasion with confidence and pride, each of them performed with great enthusiasm and brought their character to life on stage. It was a delight to watch them interacting in the style of their character, incorporating small and large gestures, body language, facial expressions and intonation.
Well done Boys – all the staff are very proud of you for undertaking and successfully completing your parts and working together to create a truly spectacular performance!
Our audiences seemed to enjoy it too with lots of laughter at the jokes and foot tapping along to the songs. Thank you to Mr Appleby for his guidance with the songs and piano playing, which allowed the boys to perform with confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
We would like to thank all the parents for supporting the boys with learning their words and lyrics at home, providing the amazing costumes that helped the boys act in their roles so fervently, and coming to watch on the days of the performance. Special thanks to the parents who provided props and came to help with make-up for our female characters.
Huge thanks go to the Year 2 staff for all their hard work behind the scenes. Thank you to Mrs Collins for the stunning headgear created for the rats. Thank you to Mrs Khan and Mrs Logan for working on dances, stage directions, movement and sound effects. Thank you to Mrs Steel and Mrs Johnston for creating fantastic props and for decorating the hall so beautifully.
We are certainly very proud of our wonderful little actors and hope that they continue to enjoy performing on stage in the future.
