The Look Out Centre in Bracknell

On the 29th June, 55 very excited Year One boys turned up to school bright and early. We were heading off on our trip to Bracknell forest, to visit the Look Out Discovery Centre.

The boys started their adventure with a look into the wonderful world of bugs and beasties. They enjoyed learning all about food chains, classes of bugs including arachnids and insects and how the bugs survive in the wild. We then had the opportunity to use nets to catch insects and look at them in greater detail in magnifying pots.

The boys had a fantastic time in the Science Zone, trying out various experiments and building locks in the water play area. They all visited the gift shop to spend their money responsibly. After a tasty lunch, they had the opportunity to run around in the Adventure playground. Fun was had by all.

Thank you must go to all our parent helpers who contributed to a very successful and enjoyable trip.

Some thoughts from the boys about the trip:

Ali: “We played head, shoulders, knees and toes but we did head, thorax, abdomen, abdomen because we were learning about minibeasts.”

Alexander S.: “We did some science things – we had to launch a rocket by spinning a disk and when the arrow was red and there was enough power and the fire was glowing we had to press the fire button then it will launch!”

Charlie  “I liked going to the gift shop.  I also liked when we went looking for insects, I found a spider!
