Go For Your Goal

On Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd July all the boys in Years 2 and 3 performed their end of year musical, ‘Go for Goal’, written by Gawen Robinson.

As a school staff we are all so proud of the boys, they have worked so hard to learn their lines and remember their cues. We think it is probably the trickiest play we have performed, with the huge number of lines that boys needed to learn and the action taking place on two different stages as well as in the central aisle!

They learnt all the songs, handled all the scene changes and props with great confidence and were always fantastic at listening to direction from their teachers and friends.

The audience seemed to enjoy it too with lots of laughter at the jokes and foot tapping to the songs. We would like to thank all the parents for supporting the boys with learning their words at home, providing wonderfully colourful costumes and props, and coming to watch their boys on the day.

It was fantastic to be able to take advantage of the piano, flute and saxophone. Thank you must go to Mr Appleby and Miss Darby for their inspirational playing, which really allowed the boys to feel the music and sing with exuberance and enthusiasm.

Thank you also must go to Mrs Burgess and Mrs Thom who helped to add a touch of ‘football magic’ by creating stunning scenery, props and decorating the hall.

We are certainly very proud of our wonderful little actors and hope that they continue to enjoy performing on stage in the future.
