Summer Concert

Congratulations to all the boys who took part in the concert on the 24th June. I am delighted at the enthusiasm for music and the quality of instrumental performance that is beginning to emerge from among the pupils.

The boys, who had clearly practised hard, were an inspiration to their peers who will, I hope also be encouraged to take up instruments. Although the piano proved to be the most popular instrument I was pleased to see other instruments being played too.

With the introduction of our new string programme for Year 2 next year I hope that future class concerts will be richer and more varied. There are also other instruments suitable for young children such as the coronet, which is easier for small hands than the trumpet.

Parents, please feel free to consult me if you would like some advice about a suitable choice of instrument for your son.
