Artist in Residence - Donagh Curwen

On Wednesday 26th June, Year 2 and 3 took part in an exciting art project led by Donagh Curwen, a Surrey based artist.

The boys made beautiful Indian elephants with clay and decorated them with beads, embroidery and plenty of sparkle!

The techniques that Donagh taught the children helped them all make sturdy elephants that are truly unique and full of character. The boys have learnt many useful tricks that will no doubt be applied to clay projects in the future.

This ‘Artist in Residence’ event was kindly sponsored by the Friends of Squirrels. We would like to thank them for funding this rewarding project.

Donagh was assisted on the day by Ralph Barker. We are very grateful to them both for making the day such a great success and we look forward to planning future projects together.

Miss Dennis
