2ED’s Voyage Into The Unknown

On Thursday 4th February, 2ED performed their (in the words of Mrs Buck) “sensational” class assembly informing the school all about Neil Armstrong and the first moon landing in 1969.

Last term we had been learning about the History of Transport and one particular lesson, on the history of spacecraft, captured the imagination of all the boys in the class. It was at this point I realised we just HAD to do our assembly on this theme!

The assembly opened with the ‘Mick and Mack Show’. This action-packed show involved interviews with the crew members, 1930s ‘cinefilm’ flashbacks, a fast-paced quiz contest, and a re-enactment of the moon landing. We were also thoroughly entertained by the rock ‘n’ roll House Band: ‘The Blue Mooners’.

The boys looked fantastic in their costumes. They had worked hard to quickly learn their lines and songs lyrics.  On the day their lines were delivered seamlessly and they handled all the props with confidence.

Thank you parents for supporting the learning of lines at home and providing such lovely costumes for the boys to wear. It was a great pleasure to see so many parents watching the assembly on the day.
