Sports Relief

In the lead up to Sports Relief a successful cake sale was run by the School Council on Friday 12th February. We raised a fantastic £189.90 at the cake sale.

Throughout the week of Sport Relief the School Council members helped sell wristbands and collect donations.

On Friday 18th March the whole school took part in the Sport Relief mile run at Kings College School playing fields. Mr Morrison and Mr Wright set off as pace makers for the Reception boys and had a lot of work to do with 56 boys following closely on their tails! The group quickly thinned out after an initial sprint from some and they settled into a good rhythm with all the boys completing the run in under 20 minutes.

Shortly afterwards it was the turn for the Year 1 and Year 2 to participate in their Sport Relief mile. The boys did a quick warm up to the sport relief charity song “Step It Up” and this time Mr Wright set off at a steady pace with Konstantinos, Gianluca and Edward snapping at his heels all the way round.  A few of the boys spoke about how they felt after the run, Charlie (1H) said “I like when we ran our one mile. I felt very proud and happy.” Devan said “I liked when I ran one mile for Sport Relief. I felt really exhausted. I felt really fast because I beat Mr McInnes and Mr Bragg!”

Congratulations to all the boys and staff that completed their Sport Relief mile run!

The grand total raised for Sport Relief this year was nearly £500!
