1H Class Assembly
1H had the unlucky task of following the two outstanding assemblies performed by both 1D and 1C.
However, I felt the boys really rose to the challenge and worked as a team to create a wonderful class assembly. The school and parents were wowed by 1H’s retelling of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ on Thursday 23rd November 2017. They all spoke, sang and danced with confidence and performed fantastically!During our English lessons this term, we have explored traditional tales.
Together we looked at the use of language and repetition within the stories. The boys really enjoyed ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, especially the Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum part. The boys enjoyed creating their own imaginary lands at the top of the beanstalk and it seemed only fair that for our assembly we retold a story that inspired our learning so significantly.
1H did a fantastic job learning all their lines and working hard to make sure they each spoke loudly and clearly using expression to enhance our story telling. Some boys in 1H even wanted to add some dance elements into our performance. The boys came up with the idea to be beans growing into a beanstalk. They decided what they wanted on the front and back on their headbands, chose the music and created the dance themselves!
I am so proud of the performance 1H put on and they should be equally as proud of themselves. I would like to congratulate every single boy in the class and say a huge thank you to the parents for their support with helping the boys learn their lines and also for providing costumes.
