Jeans for Genes Day
On Friday 23rd September, the WCPS School Council helped raise an amazing £351 for the Jeans for Genes Day charity.
All boys and staff were invited to come to school dressed in their jeans and donate to this worthwhile cause.
The School Council presented a special Assembly about the charity, teaching the whole school “what ‘genes’ means”. We learnt the influence that genes have on our everyday lives, from the colour of our eyes to the way our body works, grows and develops. They also explained that the money raised on Jeans for Genes Day funds a range of initiatives that improve the quality of life of children affected by genetic disorders.
Well done to the School Council for encouraging us all to join in so enthusiastically and presenting such an interesting assembly.
Thank you all for your generous donations and support.
