Butser Ancient Farm

On Tuesday14th October Year 1 boarded the coach in a highly excited and anticipatory mood. We were all looking forward to our new trip to Butser Ancient Farm in Hampshire.

Once we arrived we were shown into the Celtic round house where we ate our snacks around a real fire. Following this we spent an action packed day carrying out a range of Iron Age building tasks such as clunching, wattling and daubing.

We also had a chance to be archaeologists and to excavate some treasures from the ground and to make our own chalk carvings.

Many thanks to all the parent helpers who accompanied us and helped to make the trip a huge success – we will definitely be revisiting next year!
