The games were very exciting, Alastair van der Meer dribbled superbly to set up Yehia Radwan. There was resilient defending by Xavier Critchlow, Alexander Mattson and Aditya Bhimalingam and fine goal keeping by San Lee.

1Y & 1C vs Rowans Friday 17th October The boys travelled by coach to Beverly Meads to play against the Rowans School. In a very successful trip, Squirrels won seven out of the eight games. Man of the match was Arun Joshi who scored a 2 minute hat trick.

Year 2 Cranmore Football Tournament Saturday 4th October v’s Lanesborough, the boys passed the ball very well creating lots of space to open up and attack Lanesborough resulting in a 4-0 win.  Harry, Kit and Jethro were solid in defence allowing the strikers and midfielders to do a fantastic job in the other areas of the pitch. Against The Rowans and the last game of the day a local derby.  Julian Duminy was captain for the match and it was only fitting that he led by example, Julian dribbled the ball from the side-line and unleashed a rocket shot that was far too quick for the keeper to react to, giving Squirrels the lead! The second goal came from Felix Le Vesconte who dribbled up the pitch with speed and then very calmly and coolly finished picking out the bottom left corner. It was a fine way to end a very difficult and very wet day. Unfortunately the boys just missed out on the knockout stage of the competition by one point ending on 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Congratulations to Kit Lockard, Harry Walker, Jethro Eley, Zack Kelly, Julian Duminy, Leo Dickinson and Felix Le Vesconte

Kingsway Tournament Friday 17th October  The Kingsway tournament consisted of 8 boys from Year 2 playing against boys from Year 3. The highlights were a 0-0 draw against Kings House, 2-0 victory against Dulwich College School and a close 1-0 win against City of London. The team outperformed themselves against boys a year older than themselves and finished 3rd in their group. Well done to Lachlan Bisset, Harvey Webber, Callum Grantham, Leo Dickinson, Harry Walker, Kit Lockard, Felix Le Vesconte and  Zack Kelly.

Year 2 v Kings College School Monday 13th October In what is always a very challenging encounter, WCPS lost all 8 of the fixtures we played against Kings College School. Even though the opposition were one year older, the boys played with grit, determination and gave it their all right up to the final whistle.

Year 2 v Kings College School Monday 7th November This time round each team improved their result from the previous fixture against KCS. There was a very credible 1-1 draw in the team led by Felix Gerlach (captain) alongside Ben Court, Adrian Sigwart, Alp Ciceksever, George Huxtable, Callum Granthum and Veer Venkatesam. Tobin O’Donnell (captain) led his team to a near shock result against Kings, with time running out WCPS were winning 4-3; but lost out narrowly 6-4. Nikolas Andrijanovs scored a hat-trick, other members of the team included Jed Bennet, Jethro Eley, Harvey Webber, Jonathan Miles and Max Garner.

2ED and 2AR vs Donhead Monday 17th November In this fixture there were 6 games in total played with Squirrels winning 5 and drawing 1. Mrs Clark’s team won six goals to three with Miles McBrien and Alfie Edmondson putting in a strong performance. Mrs Collins’ Team beat Donhead 1-0. Mr McInnes lead his team to a 3-0 win with Jin-So Pak scoring two goals and Heath Terlouw getting the third with a fabulous effort.

George Huxtable scored five goals and Max Garner also got on the score sheet in Mr Morrison’s game for a 6-0 victory, with notable performances from Callum Grantham, Rafael Aram and Ben Court ( who made some great passes to set up George Huxtable). Adrian Sigwart was solid in defence and Sen Patel had a good work rate and constantly applied pressure on the Donhead defence.

Mr Wright’s team also won 6-0 with a first half hat-trick by Harvey Webber and a goal by Lachlan Bisset which put Squirrels up 4-0 up at half time. Luke Burton and Tobin O'Donnell who were immoveable objects in defence, scored in the second half to finish the game off. Although Nicholas Vital did not have a lot to do in goal, when the odd shot did come his way he made sure he was focused to save it and not concede a goal. Jethro Eley and Felix Gerlach were the engines in midfield with nonstop running and some tough tackling.

Mr Bragg’s side drew 3-3 to a strong Donhead team. Jed Bennet had a great match marking and tackling superbly well. Zack and Leo were amazing goalkeepers, Julian scored a great goal and Felix Le Vesconte scored a brace.
